Known problems, which are caused by the original power steering in the Mustang.
To correct these defects or to retrofit a power steering system in the first place, we offer you our high-quality sets.
Instead of using a control valve, a pressure cylinder and a steering gear like the original, this system integrates everything into one unit.
This saves space, reduces weight and eliminates possible leaky hoses. Furthermore, there is no longer a need for a control valve, which must always have a small amount of play in order to function.
Technical data:
- Diameter of shaft for mounting of bell crank on steering gear: 1 inch
- Mounting for Hardy disc on steering gear: 11/16 inch 36 tooth
- Mounting of the steering gear on the frame at the original mounting points
- Gear ratio: 16:1
Necessary for mounting:
- The required length of the V-belt must be determined when the system is installed and can then be obtained at a local auto parts store
- The shaft of the steering column must be replaced - this is included in the delivery. Alternatively, a suitable steering column can be purchased new
